Every Republican(!) senator has rejected Trumps attacks on the press

It is unanimous:
“the press is not the enemy of the people.” No matter how many times Trump yells profanities and lies because he dislikes the truth or because people don’t like his violence and racism and laugh at his ignorance or because he encouraged Russian interference. The Republican party has spoken, every Republican(!) senator has rejected Trumps deliberate distortions of the truth about the news.
…”the free press serves to inform the electorate, uncover the truth, act as a check on the inherent power of the government, further national discourse and debate, and otherwise advance the most basic and cherished democratic norms and freedoms of the United States; and condemns the attacks on the institution of the free press and views efforts to systematically undermine the credibility of the press as an attack on the democratic institutions of the United States….”
The vote comes after more than 300 hundred U.S. newspapers launched a coordinated defense of press freedom and a rebuke of President Donald Trump for denouncing some media organizations as enemies of the American people.

The Boston Globe said it received threats Thursday after Trump tweeted about the news outlet, accusing it of being in collusion with other papers. [Trump is a source of violence in our country!]

August 16, 2018:
About 350 newspapers all have A statement supporting the free press and decrying President Trump’s attacks against the media.
From The Martha’s Vineyard Times to the Dallas Morning News… from the Yankton County Observer in South Dakota to the Bangor Daily News in Maine… the papers are all running editorials as part of an effort first proposed by the Boston Globe earlier this month.
Each paper wrote its own editorial. The campaign is significant because it moves the conversation about Trump’s attacks out of Washington and New York and into communities across the country.

Trump foolishly lied to the President of Canada and later, like a delusional child, laughed about it in the news.

To a ‘60 Minutes’ Reporter Trump admitted that he attacks journalists so “no one will believe” them.

Leslie Stahl asked him “Why are you doing this? You’re doing it over and over. It’s boring and it’s time to end that”
“And he said, ‘I do it to discredit you all and demean you all so that when you write negative stories about me, no one will believe you,’”
Never mind that the stories are true(!), He just doesn’t like it. … So he lies, demeans, slanders, gets profane, even bigoted, – to the point of inciting violence.

In an interview ― the first with Trump after his victory ― the reporter found that he did not expect to fulfill some [any] of his campaign promises (“to the letter”). Rather, she said, he saw them as “opening bids for negotiation.”
