The expected global demand for 2010 exceeds 16,000 MW, more than twice the capacity installed in 2009 . Europe still prevails, but starting from next year China and the US will be key actors.
The global demand of photovoltaic solar panels will exceed 16,000 MW in 2010, with an increase of more than 100% over 2009 levels.
The growth was registered by the European market, which is still prevailing worldwide, as well as by the US and Asia, where the fastest growth is expected.
The forecast comes from IMS Research, an international institute that analyses the power market. The report shows that the solar panel demand will still grow steadily in European markets, especially in Germany, Italy, France and the Czech Republic, where it is boosted by incentives.
Nevertheless, in the last months of this year, the US and Chinese markets will register the fastest growth and will become key actors at a global level for the next five years.
